Moving beyond Effort

Beyond effort, beyond body and mind - we find freedom of movement and expression. We'll go on a journey through movement & physical practice to discover that on the other side of effort there is everything we can imagine. Extreme physical & mental exhaustion in an effortless way in combination with slow gentle meditative practise. 

Only when we let go we find the possibilities of movement that are unavailable to us in our habitual state. By doing so, we uncover movements that where ‘lost’ to us and we integrate them back into our life. For this to happen we must pass through the eye of the storm and shake it off…

Dealing with the effort brings up personal and cultural contexts, beliefs and convictions. Working through the body we gain perspective and insight about ourselves and our surroundings. 

In this two day workshop we will relax, move super fast, let it all go and shake our bones. We will push our physical and mental borders, in such a way that allows us freedom and creativity. We will go to the limit of body and mind and cross it - just to get a taste of what’s beyond. We’ll practice being out of our comfort zone and learn to enjoy it. 

The work is inspired by Somatic & Shamanic practices (such as: ILM method, Feldenkriz & various breathing exercises), that come together to help us have the experience of extreme physical conditions - in a safe and grounded way, allowing us to open up and discover new ground & movement within the body-mind.
